LeftoversA Poem by Chase WeikThis is a sonnet that I managed to "cook" up a while back. It's just a lighthearted poem that I had wanted to write for a while now. Hope you guys like it!Open the fridge greeted by blinding light Taking the food that was left overnight They told me to cook, so I found a way I’ll heat up this meal from noon yesterday Pop off the top, with pooled condensation I’ll stun their tongues with this new creation Microwave, oh the savior of college Make my peers believe I have the knowledge To cook like a chef, like mother back home The timer goes off and makes itself known A knock on my door, they're right on the dime Wrapping up this plagiarism of mine Open their mouths and beginning to eat Enjoying this food that tastes of concrete © 2017 Chase WeikAuthor's Note
