Fear of Flying

Fear of Flying

A Poem by Charming Rivers

I sit alone in a crowded parking lot

Dwelling on the turns life seems to keep taking.

What are my hopes, desires and dreams

And why do the change with every sunrise?

I go through the motions of everyday life

Fooling myself into the belief of change.

Time continues on

Whether we go with it or not.

A deep set fear of such changes

Keeps me rooted to this very spot.

Forever I am dreaming

What life would be like

If I could spread my wings

And finally fly away.

About
I have been writing since I was 7. I would love to get published someday. I write poetry, fiction, and I am trying to dabble in some autobiography type of work, but that's a slow process. I have an A.. more..
