My Silent Prayer

My Silent Prayer

A Poem by Charming Rivers

Forgiveness:

The card I drew…

God forgive me,

If you only knew.

Forgive me Father

For I have sinned,

Am sinning,

Have yet to,

About to jump right in.

Forgiveness.

But can he forgive?

He doesn’t know the things I do.

Things I’ve done,

And what I’m planning.

Forgiveness.

Forgive my secrets

And my lies,

My deceit

And my cheating.

Forgiveness.

Oh, Heavenly Father,

How many commandments will I break?

I’ve told lies,

And coveted,

Dishonored my parents…

I’ve stolen

And adultered.

Forgiveness…

Forgive.

Please,

Forgive me Father.

For I,

Have sinned.

About
I have been writing since I was 7. I would love to get published someday. I write poetry, fiction, and I am trying to dabble in some autobiography type of work, but that's a slow process. I have an A.. more..
