Chapter 1 - Just another day

(Counseling Session)

Michael - I totally understand that could be hard on anyone.

Ashley - It's just I'm tired of doing the same thing every day. I've been staying home doing absolutely nothing for 3 years now. I don't have a job or even any friends anymore.... I don't know sometimes it just seems like killing myself would solve it all...

Michael - How would you like your life to be?

Ashley - I guess I want to be more like other people.

Michael - What do you mean other people?

Ashley - Like go out every other night, have friends, have a job...idk...

Michael - The good thing is that everything you just said is doable, it's just going to take time.

Ashley - It's just hard to do anything like that with my social anxiety...

Michael - Your at a crosswalk right now you can either go right or left. Right leads to change and Left leads to the same, you decide which path to take.

Ashley -......

Michael - And with that our times up, see again tomorrow.

Ashley - You know it's not that easy...

Michael - It doesn't matter how slow you walk, as long as you don't stop.

Ashley - [Walks out of the room]

(The car ride home)

Mom - Did you have fun in your counseling session?

Ashley - Sure if you count talking about my s****y life fun.

Mom - Sorry I asked.

Ashley - .....

Mom - You know you can tell me anything.

Ashley - I know...

Mom - You know Katy moving out tomorrow to her college dorm. You want to tag along?

Ashley - No not really.

Mom - .....

(Ashley Home)

Mom - Before you lock yourself in your room, why don't we all eat dinner together.

Ashley - I'm not hungry...

Katy - Come on sis eat dinner with us, all you ever do is stay in your room all day.

Ashley - No thanks [Walks into her room]

Katy - Do you think these counseling session are working?

Mom - I don't know anymore..

(Ashley Room)

Ashley - I really don't understand why I'm even alive...I'm nothing but a burden to my family... Why can't I just be normal...

(Knocks on the door)

Mom - Hey there's some leftovers if you get hungry later. [Walks away]

Ashley - ......

(The next day)

(On the kitchen table there's a note)

Note - Ashley, your sister and me went to her dorm to get her stuff arranged.

Ashley - ....

(The Park)

Ashley - [Lays on the grass looking into the sky, listening to Animal Collective - Fireworks] Just another boring day...

(Some girl blocks Ashley vision with her head)

??? - Hi

Ashley - [Surprised, slams her head into the stranger]

??? - F**K!! That f*****g hurt...

Ashley - Ah...

??? - Why did you do that for?

Ashley - .....

??? - Huh?

Ashley - .....

??? - Do you talk?

Ashley - Yeah...

??? - Your freaking weird..[Stands up] well anyways I just came to invite you to our club. [Hands Ashley a card] My name is Cam and if you make fun of me like i don't know suggest my name is in Camera. I'll rip your tongue out and feed it to my dogs. [Smiling] The club is for people to hangout and have fun simple as that. If you do decide to join us just answer the question on the back.

Ashley - uh okay?..

Cam - Good! Well I'm off there's a lot more people to invite. [Walks away]

Ashley - What just happened?...

(Later in the day - Counseling Session)

Michael - She was a odd one.

Ashley - She couldn't have been more than 14 years old.

Michael - A bit young to be giving you treats, maybe if she was 16 then it would be fine.

Ashley - Your not helping.

Michael - Sorry. [Looking at the card] It says they meet every day at 5 to 8pm, but it doesn't have an address anywhere...

Ashley - If you look at the back of the card it asks you if you want to join, then a line for your answer.

Michael - Do you wish to join The Club?

Ashley - All of this just seems like a joke to me.

Michael - Well it looks like our time has run out.

(Back home - Ashley Room)

Ashley - [Looking at the card] Do I want to join The Club?....[Grabs a pen and writes down yes] Now what? [Puts the card on her desk and goes to bed] Who I'm I kidding, who wants a person like me in their club. [Falls asleep]
