Shreds of the past

Shreds of the past

A Poem by Charms
"

One of my fave works... a little morbid but I love it!

"
Shreds of the past are long forgotten like
Threads of a rag they've been scattered
Over the seas of a million memories never
To be looked at again
The tides of time have swept over the
Sands of my life washing the pain away
With every wave that breaks upon the
Shores of my heart

I am the sea Calm and blue on the
Surface but turbulent undercurrents
Rage below stronger than any forces
Humans know who gave me the right to live?
Swept off and dashed against the rocks of life
Sprung forth an inner strength called Hate
Along with the forces of breaking waves
Who gave me the right to live?
Restless, Unredeeming, nothing seems real anymore
I swore to myself I would not feel pain like I did before
The wounds ran deep the scars remained
I am still blinded by rage and strain
(Of the years I have been robbed of sleep)
Who gave me the right to live?

Shreds of the past are long forgotten like
Threads of a rag they’ve been scattered
Over the seas of a million memories never
To be looked at again

Who gave me the right to live?

Charms
I experimented on a new style of rhyming. I like changing my style. Poetry is so versatile you can do just about anything to it.
