My Daddy

There was a time when daddy was my hero

And I was daddy's pet, when I looked into

His eyes I could see everything I was and

Everything I could be, now times have

Changed, times are hard, my daddy's forgotten me.

 

Daddy was my role model, my shelter from

The storm, when the whole world got cold

Daddy's arms would keep me warm.

 

Daddy was my best friend I was the

Apple of his eye now each time I think of

Daddy I break down and cry.

 

How could the man who raised me

Be the the one to betray me, be the

One to bring tears to my eyes, when

did the paternal love die?

 

I'm all grown up and married now

I have a new hero and he loves me

When I look into his eyes I see

What I am and what I will be.
