The Wedding Ring

The Wedding Ring

A Poem by Charms
"

I wrote this to get my message across to an acquaintance (woman) who couldn't accept the fact that I am married to an extremely wonderful man.

"

One may not wear the wedding ring,

Coz it does not prove anything;

What the heart and mind both feel,

Words will seldom ever reveal.

Who are we to intervene,

When we cannot see the unseen?

A couple’s love so deep and pure,

Even a blind man couldn't ignore.

Beneath the flawed surface lies;

A truth that cannot be denied,

This friendship, patience and loyalty,

That’s etched in the heart for all eternity.

Author's Note

Charms
Half asleep at 3 a.m. and this was what I came up with in less than five minutes. Marriage, to me is sacred and I think people should respect the married couple. They don't need anyone's approval or intervening, especially in the negative form.

A wife's sincere commitment , draws an acquaintance's resentment,
Never you mind, don't mind them ..they are playing a Sudoku game,
An acquaintance is someone you barely know...and not yet your friend.

everyone else wants to approve or disapprove of our relationships, marriages etc.

but we are the only ones who feel it, understand it...and even if it may not be good for us...perhaps we just have to experience these interactions...whether they are good for us or not...

the couple living in the marriage...they are the only ones who really count...they don't need others' approval to be happy.
