Untitled 2/22A Poem by CharlyeMonroeWritten watching a young, nude Helen Mirrien play in the ocean
Chase the sunshine
Can't catch up to the world In the daytime the wine of breeze detained Seasonal gains Springtime We engage in this game And the length of my hair is summer time And the clothes that she wears are not mine And when I think I'm in need of another kind I just want to stop the play and press rewind Trying to catch the sun again What do you make of that? Playing chicken with a loaded gun Can't take it back Fire dancers Tiger stripes down my spine She's feral Doesn't say as much May think I'm wasting my time March on Six paces And Shoot © 2013 CharlyeMonroe |
