A Poem by CharlyeMonroe
"

Number 38 of The Knockouts

"
I think about her
In my overall hours
Minutes of the day
She occupies an even one
Like the sun coming down on the side of those hills
Back lit and silhouette with hard outline as to the definition
Details lost to time of day
Reality objective
Subject tanning in the heat of another state
The air here has a coolness to it
That can distract from the rays when most extreme
Dissonence
“I am a flirt”
Date with destiny keeping me on solid ground
“You are perfect”
She doesn’t always answer my calls but when she does it’s always with joy
Pistachio
I smile as though she could see me
Sound waves of a sonic youth
The black crow sits on satalite dish basking in morning’s glory
Back to the moon
Snails shadow etched into wood grain
Climbing up the walls
It is a luxury like burning an American flag in oil from the Middle East or bus fare
