A war was about to begin, each and every Kingdom was silent
in the wait for the news that was about to appear.
"The Darkness is upon us" Said a loud voice that echoed throughout
each Kingdom via a television screen. "And we need our warriors."
Katherina, a young girl " only 17 " stood there, beside her father and brother,
as they listened to the news "Its time, isn't it father?" Her voice
was louder, calmer, than she had ever sounded, but inside, she was screaming
with fear and panic.
"It is." Replied her father "Both of you pack your luggage, you
will leave tonight, and will be taken to a place you have never been before " where
they will train you for this."
Alexander, the brother, said nothing. Quiet as he was he just nodded and went
to his room to pack.
"Kat?"
"Do you think we have a chance?" She asked, her pale blue eyes
flickering to her father "A chance to win?"
"There's always a chance, and hope. You have hope don't you?"
"Of course I do." Although the lie was plainly obvious to her own
ears, she silently went to her room, and packed.
Later that night, shortly before the transport was set to arrive, she stood on
her balcony, looking out at Oceanstide, and praying that soon again this would
be the view she was seeing.
Oceanstide was a beautiful place; rivers ran through it, all of them the true
colour of water " a mixture of purple, blue and green, known by its people as
Aqueomisity. No other colour was like it, and no other Kingdom contained it.
This was because Oceanstide was the only Kingdom of the water Elementalists.
People who could manipulate water to do what they wished, in order to defend
themselves, and destroy others. And yet, it was the most beautiful place
Katherina had ever lay her eyes upon, and it was purely magnificent.
She looked down at her hand, which was resting on the balcony, as another "
comforting and familiar hand " rested upon it "Don't be afraid" Said
Alex, unlike his sisters blonde hair, he was a dark brunette, but he shared the
same eyes with his twin sister. "I'll protect you, you know that"
"I don't want you hurt either-"
"And I won't get hurt. We only have to train right now, we don't know if
we'll even have to fight yet. And we won't be alone; we'll be with all of the
other Kingdoms willing to send Warriors."
"But no two Kingdoms are truly friends " I mean except from..."
"Oceanstide and entity's existence?"
"Yes, the Kingdom of Time. But that's only because I'm arranged to marry
their prince, something I am still begging you to not make me do. Can't you
convince father? Mother?"
"Kat, we're only doing it to protect you. We have your best interests at
heart, and it will form a treaty that we need."
Katherina sighed, and said nothing.
A few minutes later a car stopped outside of the castle. It was black and sleek
" nothing they had seen in Oceanstide before, as this was normally an old
fashioned Kingdom which preferred a horse for a mode of transport. "I
think that's our ride" said Katherina, "We should get going"
"Have you packed everything?"
"I have,"
"Then come on, and as I said, don't be scared." He gently took his
sisters hand, and walked to her suitcase, before putting it over his shoulder
and taking both his and hers to the car.
A man " the driver " stepped out, wearing a dark suite and what appeared to be
a top hat, opened the door for them. They silently got in the car.
The journey was completed in silence.
It took what felt like an eternity before the car stopped, in front of what
appeared to be an extremely tall building, in the middle of nowhere "
surrounded only by fields.
The door was again opened for them, and they stepped out " seeing other cars,
similar as there's, stopping and a variety of people stepping out of them.
Everyone looked so different, yet they were also similar. Each Kingdom had sent
the heirs to their thrones " no King or Queen would be at this battle, only
Princes and Princesses. Each car contained a person from a different place,
dressed in different colours and fashions. But when looking in their eyes, you
could see the equal fright that each and every one of them shared.
They were all terrified.
