I am Woman

I am Woman

A Poem by Charlie Drake
"

written 7/17/10, inspired by reading a poem by Emily Dickinson, "Call me Wife"

"
I am

Frail because I am woman
unwise because I am child
Normal because I feel motherhood
Strong for I have faced hardships
Unkempt because of my generation
Strange because I want courtship
Old because of the era I should live in
Alone because time changes people
Growing because people change people

I am
Woman

But so much more than that.
