wordsA Poem by Charlie DrakeWords are falling off the page Hanging by a rope While each string holding together Slowly rips Nonetheless, I keep writing and The sentences grow heavier against the page And I wait for it to fall to the ground Porcelain shattering Unable to be fixed As smoke swims out from their hollow insides I sit in a haze, gripping my pencil Trying to say these words None make sense and most are undoubtedly absurd But I cannot stop- cannot wait I can only watch as they fall Unable to erase them © 2010 Charlie DrakeReviews
