A murder

A murder

A Poem by Charlie Hawthorne

There you stand

With your sleek black cover,

Darker than a deep winter midnight,

And beady, soulless eyes.

They pierce my heart

And mind.

I watched you as you gathered.

I noticed your hands of talons

And fingerless claws.

You rapture spirits,

Yet have none of your own.

Your mouth lays in a sharp,

Crooked sort of smile.

And you stare at your completion.

“A murder” She said,

And your voice crows out an evil maleficent laugh.
