Pennywise

Pennywise

A Poem by Charlie Hawthorne

"

Insignificant penny

You burn a whole through my pocket

And my spirit.

Worthless, they say.

But you aren't insignificant to me

You bring sunshine to my day

With a little bit of luck.

Wiser, I think.

That is what you make of me.

Tiny, shiny penny

Built so strong

Whatever shall I do with you?
