Little Shop of Horrors

Little Shop of Horrors

A Poem by Charlie Hawthorne

Little Shop of Horrors

Dancing in my head

Little Shop of Horrors

Filling me with dread

Little Shop I know so well

Lock me in my private hell

Trapped within this body of mine

Can't someone hold up a vacancy sign

My heart skipped out

Left my head with clouded doubt

Oh Little Shop of Horrors

You sit just around the corner

Missed the chance to mourn her

Her spirit abandons her, too.

I suppose when the idea came to me, my intent was for the shop to be a part of a person. To be something within the body that keeps them trapped from the outside world but I suppose as the idea developed it turned into something more tangible, like a separate entity. Does that make sense. Thanks for the review. It is appreciated.

This is a chilling poem, at first I thought it was an actual shop but
when I finished reading I wasn't so sure. Is the Little Shop of Horrors
a person? I could be way wrong on that, the poem is great and
very well written. Spooky anyway!

I think I started taking writing seriously when I was 13. I go through periods in my life where I write a lot and become inspired easily, but I also go through times when my creative juices do not see.. more..
