Eternal Eclipse

Eternal Eclipse

A Poem by Charley Dominic

Inside a now empty chamber of my mind,
Hollow laughter you will verily find,
Vibrating off the once gleaming stone,
Resonating through to the bleached bone,

False golden sunlight filters down,
Illuminating our broken and beaten clown,
Pooling his heaving chest and closed eyes,
As if shining light onto his precious lies,

Scratches mark the faded grey rock,
The maddened Shepard fleeing his flock,
Our fallen jesters nails ragged and torn,
Seeking an escape from his scorn,

Grief laden laughter wracks his soul,
Like sarcasm on his first parole,
Half hidden smile on his lips,
"My sun is in an eternal eclipse"
