Falling

Falling

A Poem by Charley Dominic

Falling into that maddened state of hysteria,
Alert to only the emotions in my heart,
Lying to my head and lying to my tears,
Lying to the people around me,
Inventing new cover stories for my life,
Narcotic clouds of sardonic laughter,
Grow and blossom under an unstable mind,

Inside my whirling dancing mind,
Nothing sane will you ever find,
Too much to wish for?
Or was that a victim of my mental war?

Insanity was too much to ask for,
Now its all gone up in smoke,
Sliding the conscious side of my mind
Away from the sanity and into the
Narcotic purple haze of blood,
Ingesting the poisoned cloud,
Together mixed with the latent,
Yellow flood of arcane lies,
