Empty Ocean

Empty Ocean

A Poem by Charley Dominic

My laugh seems so hollow,
My world seems too empty,

Stones thrown at an empty ocean,
Trying to releive my emotion,
Watch them splash white plumes,
And think of summers wide blooms,

My promises are broken,
My lies are all retold,

Silently watching that open sea,
Wishing it to open and swallow me,
Hide me and protect my back,
As thats the place people seem to attack,

My smile is so distant,
My face is false,

Biting back tears, Lump in my throat,
Willing my life story to be rewrote,
On my knees, at your feet,
Once again, a revealed cheat,

My life is wrong,
My knees scarred,

Just offer the coup de grâce
Dont ignore me and pass,
Tears roll unbidden down my face,
I dont give a damn for my disgrace,

My life should be over,
My world is gone,
