Destiny

Destiny

A Poem by Charley Dominic

The lady of the river starts as teardrops in the snow,
starting on her journey to the sea,
The lady of the river starts just as diamonds,
Flowing to her destiny
As she moves ever closer to the sea,
She laughs and gurgles on her way,

She takes to a life of crime,
Kidnapping sand and stone,
As she flows towards the sea,
Flying through the countryside,
Always slowing,
on her way to destiny,

She slides over cliffs,
Whooping as she cuts her way through valleys,
Nearing the sea she grows,
Older and slower, releasing her captives,
She flows to her death. . .
