Poetic Family

Poetic Family

A Poem by C. M. Miller

Yeah, it really sucks out
there in the poetic
abyss of the day . . .
your heart and wine glass
is bone dry and your
key board crumbles
under your  touch . . .
So, just take a deep pause,
gently decant some
wine and relax . . .
those Writers in the
Cafe will clear your head.
~~~one Cafe wine reading hour later~~~
Oh, so now I see it's perfectly normal
for it to be both cold and dark outside,
even if it's hot and bright
at the same time . . .
So of course it's perfectly normal to have
your heart easily discarded like trash . . .
so rite, right, write however you damn
well feel so ride a turtle around the sun
and slide back down to earth
on a moon beam and then dance
with dolphins and be chased by a horned
devil who makes crazy love
with you under a six leaf clover then
loses your true love in a mirror and then
you wake up next to your long lost lover
licking a lollipop only you wish it was
something else that was licked only
to discover you are still dreaming about
waking up to your lollipop licking lover
and it never ends because you refuse
to wake up to see if you are really asleep
and then . . . and then . . .
Freaking poets . . . !
Always filling in the spaces
between me and my world . . .
While penning this piece, I had a very nice Leonetti Cellar 2021 Merlot, Walla Walla Valley, Washington state along with some delectable WA state Cougar Gold sharp white cheddar cheese. Nice!
Great poem, a tale in tale in a tale, all thanks to that Merlot and cheese. Imagine the former would stir the glory of the fruitful wine, etc' and - the latter would reflect the wonder of words and their prompting from the Cafe Plus, sip and stir it all (not the wine- but thought of) then wait for the fine whetting for the throat, palate and all! Clever and inspiring on every count!
