"The death of a rebirth"A Poem by Charles MbigboIn memories of lost souls during the End SARS protest
On the 20th, October 2020
The Nigeria's Rebirth Transited from the internet, To the streets.... With vocal solidarity. Placards and voices rang out loudly In unison, the young's reeled out their grievances The hope of a prosperous nation Soon to never come. Soon, blood thirsty khaki men Rolled their wheels at night From their nefarious barrack With cocked guns and armored tank To battle against .... Unarmed singing civilians With waving flags Red, white, green A dictator's dark design A stain on Nigeria's dream We won't forget that night, We won't forget the blood, Forced into the bowels of the earth We won't forget what it looks, Like to ask for our rights Writhing in pains and despair, We found no apology or comfort. © 2021 Charles Mbigbo |
