Chapter 5 of my KH story, Does Love Rise The Dead?

I woke up and my arm was still wrapped around Xion’s waist. I took my arm off of her, lay on my back and stretched out. Xion must have been awake because she rolled over and put her arm over my stomach.

“Good morning sleepy head.” I said to her.

She opened her eyes and looked over at me and smiled.

“So, what’s on the agenda for today?” She asked.

“You remember when Roxas was like out for a few weeks and you got him those seashells?” I asked.

“Yeah, how’d you know of that?” she asked.

“He told me about it.”I said.

“Oh, I see.” She said.

“Well, I wanna go there with you today.” I said.

“Where?” She asked.

“The beach of course.” I said.

She sat up and smiled.

“Sure, but…” She said.

“Yeah?” I asked.

“All we have are our robes…” She aid.

“Well, I sent Larxene out for me the other day.” I said.

“And?” She asked.

“Well, she got me some shorts, and you a bikini.” I said.

“Really! Oh my god… that means we can go!” She said excitedly.

“Yep, of course it does.” I said with a smile.

She grabbed onto me and held tightly.

“Oh god, let’s go!” she said with a big grin on her face.

We got changed into our swimming suits, and threw our robes over that to cover us up.

“Okay, ready?” I asked.

She nodded. I grabbed her hand with mine and started to lead her out of the castle.

“So, what are we gonna do there?” She asked.

“Yeah know, swim, enjoy the view, and just walk on the beach hand-in-hand.” I said.

She grabbed onto my arm and rested her head on my shoulder.

“Come on! Let’s not waste any more time, let’s go!” She said excitedly.

We walked into the living room and Roxas, Namine, Axel, and Larxene where all in their swimming suits.

“Oh yeah, they’re going too.” I said.

“Oh, that’s fine we all get to go have fun then.” She said.

I walked up to the big window in the living room, put up my right hand and opened a big black portal.

“Okay lets go.” I said.

I walked through the portal and I instantly flew straight down and hit the ground.

“Ow…” I muttered to myself.

I flicked open my phone and called Axel.

Axel’s phone started ringing and everyone looked at him.

“Hello?” He said into his phone.

“Yeah, I did the portal wrong so when you walk through your gonna fall straight down so warn everyone.” I said threw my phone.

“That was Xarch, he said the portals wrong so when you walk into it your gonna fall straight to the ground.” He said to everyone.

“Okay, move over I’m coming through first.” He said threw the phone right before he hung up.

I moved over a bit and waited… 3… 2… 1… And there he came flying threw, but he was braced he hit on his feet then rolled into a somersault and got up and brushed himself off.

“So, who’s next?” I asked.

“Let’s see, Larxene’s coming through, I’m gonna catch her, then Roxas is gonna come through and then he’ll catch Namine, then Xion’s coming and you’ll catch her.” He said.

“Okay.” I said.

I backed up a little more and Axel braced himself and held open his arms, a few seconds later Larxene came flying threw the portal and he caught her.

“Okay, so now here comes Roxas.” I said.

A few seconds later Roxas came flying threw and he also did a somersault like Axel, getting up and then brushing himself off.

“And then Namine…” I said.

Roxas looked up and opened his arms and braced himself, shortly after Namine came falling out of the portal and Roxas caught her and moved over a few feet.

“And now my turn.” I said as I walked up to the portal.

I walked under the portal, looked up, and opened my arms and then, 3… 2… 1… Xion fell through the portal and into my arms. She smiled at me and grabbed me and gave me a hug.

“Okay, were all her, let’s go!” Xion said excitedly as she started to go towards the beach.

I grabbed Roxas, and waved Namine to go to the beach with the rest.

“You know what to do right?” I whispered to him.

He nodded his head then whispered back, “Yeah, keep them from following you.”

“Good.” I said as I let go of his shoulder and walked to the beach.

I walked up to Xion and grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me and into my arms.

“Yeah?” She asked as she looked up at me.

“Let’s go for a walk, I got something to show you.” I said to her.

I started walking with Xion wrapped around my arm, we started going to the little island in the middle of the water about 5 feet out.

“So, where we going?” She asked.

“You’ll see.” I said.

We walked over the wooden bridge to the island and went over to a lop-sided tree and I sat on it.

“Well, aren’t you going to sit down?” I asked her.

She nodded her head and then sat down next to me.

“Okay… close your eyes.” I said.

“Why?” She asked.

“You’ll see.” I said.

She closed her eyes and I stood up on the tree and looked around the green brush on the top of it. After brushing around for a little bit I found one of the fruits. I then sat back down.

“Okay, open your eyes.” I said.

“Okay, well what is it?” She asked.

I held up the fruit and her eyes widened.

“What is… that?” She asked.

“You’ve never seen one? Never heard of one?” I asked.

“No… I’ve never seen one in my life.” She said.

“It’s a Star Fruit, legend says if two people share a Star Fruit their lives are forever intertwined.” I said.

“Inter… twined?” She asked.

“Meaning if two people who love each other share one of these they’ll be together forever.” I explained.

Her eyes widened a bit then she asked, “And… you want to share one with me?”

“Yeah, that’s exactly what I want to do.” I said to her.

She smiled at me and grabbed onto me and kissed my cheek.

“That’s so sweet…” She said.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a pocket knife, I pushed a little button and the blade popped out.

“Well, let’s split it shall we?” I asked.

I handed half of it to her.

“Hold this.” I said.

I started my knife at the bottom of the star in-between the two bottom points and cut it all the way up to the little leaf hanging off the top point.

“Okay, I guess this is it.” She said.

I leaned over and kissed her.

“Your right, it is.” I said.

We started eating out halves of the fruit, that’s when I really noticed it. I looked over at Xion and started giggling.

“What?” She asked.

“I just noticed how short you are.” I giggled out.

“Oh… yeah!... well…” She muttered, turning redder and redder.

I leaned over and grabbed her with my free arm.

“Relax, I like shorter girls.” I said with a smile.

We just sat there, cuddling and staring off into the sun.

“You know, I did come and sit here once with Roxas and Axel, but I never really looked up at the fruit…” She said.

“Hmmm, is that so…” I said.

“That’s all dandy, but the deals sealed now, were going to be together forever.” I said, I then leaned over and kissed Xion.

Xion rested her head on my shoulder.

“Xion…” I said.

“Hmmm?” She mumbled out as she looked up at me.

“I know I’ve already way over-used this phrase, but I love you.” I said.

“I love you too Xarch.” She said back.

“I think that I’m the reason you came back…” I said.

She looked up at me with widened eyes.

“What do you mean?” She asked.

I looked down and sighed.

“Pure loneliness, sure I had friends, but I didn’t have a companion or partner. I couldn’t say anything to Namine, she’s with Roxas, couldn’t say nothing to Larxene, it’s not that she’s just older but her and Axel have been getting closer and closer.” I began.

“One day I was just taking it pretty hard, I was on top of the train station building sitting where you three used to hang out at, just crying out of loneliness, most of my tears hit my robe or my hands, but I think just one tear flew down and hit smack in the middle of the ground, right where you and Roxas had the fight…” I finished.

“And you think that brought me back?” She asked.

“I dunno, you think love raises the dead?” I asked.

She looked down at the sand then said, “Honestly, I think it does.”

I smiled, and grabbed her closer.

“Let’s go back to the beach.” I said.

We hopped up off of the tree and walked over the bridge back towards the beach.

We were just getting to the beach, every saw us and waved. We waved back we were just about 3 feet from everyone.

“So, how’d it go?” Namine asked.

“Perfect.” Xion and I both said.

I was walking up to everyone when suddenly a large hole of darkness opened beneath me and I fell in.

I pushed out my hand hoping someone would catch me, Xion grabbed my hand and I just dangled there.

“Oh god thanks Xion….” I said with a shake in my voice.
