Follow That Rainbow

Follow That Rainbow

A Poem by Chaotickitty

I wish upon every star.

Cracks never touch my feet,

Nor do I walk under ladders.

Mirrors of mine never break,

And in my pocket,

Lives a rabbits foot.

Above my door,

A horse shoe hangs.

And when i see a penny,

Dare say I,

I pick it up.

I do all the right things,

Follow all the rules,

But here I am,

Loveless and lonely,

Poor and Hungry,

Homeless and lost

That was a pretty nice concept you've taken up. Though some people 'think' that they're following every type of 'rule', still they don't get what they want or rather, what they need.
Quite frankly, carrying a rabbit's foot, not walking under a ladder doesn't really bring good luck. It's not luck but the hard work that pays off in the end. But people simply don't believe their own strength and instantly, bow down to the power of this so-called luck....hmmmm
Anyways, I really liked you piece. It has said a lot in few words. The flow is great and the poem, overall, is very succint. I enjoyed myself...
Great Write!!!

Interesting combination and twist to 'follow the rainbow', wasn't expecting the ending. Lovely transitition there from lucky and joyful to unlucky. Overall, lovely, but could do with being a little less conspicous.
