Prologue

In the midst of the Seplinor Kingdom, in all its wonders and cities… there was one city which stood high above others; second only to the capital city of Thorfang. The reason: their Wizard School (More like camp) was the best of all the schools. The Immortal Sanctuary, founded by the famous ex-Silver Mage, Master Jay Falcon.

Master Jay, or Blue Jay as they called him in the ranks he served 12 years ago, quit the Silver Slayers when his brother, Nicholai Falcon, the famed Ultimate Champion Mage, died in battle protecting his baby son.

Right after he retired from duty, Master Jay took command of the Immortal Sanctuary, and enrolled his oblivious newborn nephew into the school. Oblivious. Oblivious of how the world was going to change. How his life was going to change. The boy didn’t even understand his own Wizard Mark. He assumed he was normal. He knew not that Master Jay was his Uncle. Nor did he know that his father was the famous Nicholai. The boy, named Arctus Arconn Falcon, or better known as Arc, thought he was normal. The boy was ignorant and did not even know he was a Falcon; only that he was an Wizard Marked orphaned child. Arc knew nothing of his own potential magical power… yet. But soon…

~~~*11 years later*~~~
Arc could barely wait. Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock. “AAH! Go faster stupid clock!” Arc screamed at the ticking bronze machine. Just as Arc was about to go all out on the clock, a voice came-
“Next! Bring your initiation folders!” A voice that Arc recognized as Master Jay’s shouted from the Head Room.
Yes! Finally! I can finally get initiated into the Magic Classes after 11 years of staying in the stupid, tiny Pre-Mage House!’  Arc thought happily as he picked up his folders and walked in the room with a grin.
“Ah, Arc, so glad to see you here! Alright, leave the folders with me and take a bag, we enchanted it and stuffed some things you might need into it.” Jay said as he clenched his right hand into a fist to show his Wizard Mark, a blue bird with purple eyes.
With a glow, a bag came out of a bag and floated over to Arc. Jay waved his hand again and the back door flew open. “Out ya go! Dorms are to the left of the Library Tower!”
“Wait, that’s it?” Arc asked incredulously.
Jay only nodded as the door opened once again, revealing another first-year with his initiation folders.
~***~
Arc was sitting in the back of the crowd, talking to his Mark. Arc rolled his right sleeve up, exposing his Wizard Mark. From his wrist to his elbow, a two headed snake entwined around his arm. From a distance it could be mistaken for a tattoo of two snakes, but f one looked closely, the snake was connected. Making this not a snake, but a Serpent; not that Arc knew, but the arrogant Mark insisted on being called a Serpent. The black Serpent’s green eyes flashed for a moment and started to mind-speak with Arc. So, when d’ya think the Instructor guy is coming?’  The serpent’s raspy voice hissed into Arc’s mind.
‘I dunno… this is boring, Chaos.’ Arc replied, using the name he made up for his Serpent Mark.
‘Yea-’ Chaos’s thought-words were interrupted by someone else-
“Sorry, I’m late, my boys,” a short bald, middle aged man with a bushy orange mustache said, “Had to pick up some paperwork. Now, let us proceed. I am Master Drizek, the Rune Spell Master. Now, we will be getting rooms so pick a roommate!”
Arc looked around nervously, but by the time he had hesitantly raised his head, everyone was all paired. ‘Aww man!’ Arc thought.
“Oh, wow, we have an odd number of students this year! Okay then, who would like to have a three man team and take this boy in?” Master Drizek asked.
“…”
Arc looked down, disappointed that he would have to sleep outside. “We’ll take him!” a voice called out.
Arc raised his head in surprise. “Yeah!” another voice said.
Over to his left, a tall black haired boy and a skinny dark brown haired boy had smiles on their faces.
“Well, then. It’s settled! You three get the biggest room with a bunk bed to accommodate for your three people. Go on now!” Master Drizek yelled gesturing to the stairs.
“Hey,” the black haired one said as Arc walked towards them, “I’m Will, a Dragon Marked. And this skinny Wolf Marked dude is Jake.”
“I’m not that skinny!” Jake retorted holding out his hand for Arc to shake.
Politely giving his name as Arctus Arconn, but asking them to refer to him as ‘Arc’, he grinned like a madman. He had friends!!! Since when did that happen with his luck? “Wow, you look happy, but I hate to tell you that the year is going to be boring,” Jake said with a dramatic expression. “Yeah,” Will added, “I heard from the second year students about how boring first year is going to be. Our schedule is basically General Magic of Seplinor "with Master Fraye- from eight in the morning to one in the afternoon. Then a one and a half hour lunch break and then we’re supposed to learn physical skills "with Master Jay- until half past seven in the evening when we clean up and have dinner.”
“Oh…” Arc didn’t know what to say. He had some pretty well informed friends.
“Anyways, Arc, this,” Will tapped his Dragon Mark which glowed red with dark blue eyes, “… is Drago. Yes, not very original, but if you want to laugh, look at Jake’s Wolf Mark!”
“Shut it, Will!” Jake muttered, as the pink eyes on his orange Wolf Mark seemed to flare hot pink in anger. “Wolfie could best Drago anytime!”
“Your Mark’s name is Wolfie?” Arc asked incredulously.
“Don’t judge! It’s probably a better name than your chaotic mess of a Snake Mark.” Jake muttered defensively.
Chaos however immediately blew up at the word snake. For the first time in a while, Chaos spoke aloud in his peculiar thickly accented hissing voice. ‘I am Chaos, a SERPENT!!! A SERPENT!! A SERPENT MARK!!! REMEMBER THAT YOU UNEDUCATED BOY!!! I AM CHAOS THE SERPENT MARK!!!’ Chaos rasped in anger.
“Creepy…” Will and Jake voiced in unison.
            Arc smiled at their reaction while Chaos laughed his weird croaking laugh. Friendship is important. You were right Master Jay, I should have made friends earlier.
