Seraph (Noctus side)

By the way if you guy's are wondering about the Mane and Noctus names it is simply like the title. Noctus is night and Mane is day they are both in latin if you wanted to know what language they were

I could keep hearing Reev grumbling about how the person got my last name wrong. I told him it was alright and he just stared at me and shook his head.

                “You’re too nice Seraph. You got to be angry with them. You can’t just accept things the way they are.” I laughed it off and went back to finishing my homework for the day so I could do something else in the evening. Shinoa gave me a long beating and a lecture after saying that I shouldn’t be wearing pants for the school’s uniform.

                “Girls are girls, they have to dress for the occasion. You are a girl so at least look the part.”

                “Now now it’s just the way I dress it’s not like people are going to mistake me for a guy.”

                “No everyone does mistake you for a guy. Your parents also gave you that name and not to mention that they treated you like a guy.”

                “This is very troublesome for me. I just want to wear the clothes I want. Can’t I at least do that?”

                “You’re lucky our people know you are a girl but remember we have gym next at least change with the girls and not alone or maybe something else might happen along the way. Anyways this will prove to everyone that you are a girl and not a boy. Maybe they’ll think you are a cross-dresser no that’s even worse.”

                “I got it I got it. Let’s just go to class then shall we?” I got that long stare of disbelief from her and as I started walking to the door to the girl’s changing rooms. The girls noticed where I was going and they all pushed me to the guy’s side and told me to change there. I just shrugged it off and entered the door hoping that most of the guys have already finished changing.

                Gym started and I exited the boy’s room and Reev was last to go out laughing at how I ended up in the boy’s changing room after I got a huge lecture from Shinoa. I went to the girl’s changing room and started changing. When I got out to the gym where the others were already doing laps the teacher yelled at me for being a little bit late on my first day of school. As punishment for that I had to run 5 extra laps around the gym. When I was finished I tried walking to the girls group but the coach dragged me to the guys. I saw Shinoa put her hand on her face and shake it that’s when I knew that there was nothing I could have done to make the situation better. Reev jabbed me in the ribs laughing at my failure. It made it even worse when I got pats on the shoulder by the other Noctus members saying how rough it must be to be misunderstood. The mane side however just glared at me like daggers. Their minds must have been like how dare he try to go over to the girl’s side. The girls started snickering at my failure but I resolved myself to getting everyone’s attention that I am a girl and possibly have to explain why I was wearing a guy’s uniform. The teacher that was doing our physical examinations told us to spar with a partner of the same sex. I didn’t want to spar with any of the guys but it seems that I wasn’t going to get out of gym just because I didn’t feel like it. Reev decided not to spar with me because he knew of the outcome so some of the Mane class guys went up to me and decided to teach me a lesson. One of the guys seemed so keen on me being beaten so he asked the teacher to duel with me and the teacher approved. The duel was based on either getting the opponent unconscious or out of the ring but the area is like 300m in radius so that would make it more difficult. Reev mouthed out to me for the best of luck and Shinoa didn’t dare try to look at the match. I told myself to hold back by maybe 60% of the strength since he didn’t seem the type to be beaten up alot. When the teacher brought down his hand I could already see the dude charging at me. Once he was close enough to grab me I sidestep out of the way and watched him stop himself and fall to the ground. He looked at me and yelled to me to take it seriously but I didn’t I just dodged all his punches and kicks. When he was tired and out of breath I asked him to give up since we were going nowhere with this duel but he refused to back down. His eyes seems to tell me that I needed to learn my place. I scratched the back of my neck and looked around to see if anyone was still watching the duel and they were all watching with a keen sense of curiosity. I waited for the guy to charge after me with his arms out and when he did I grabbed his left wrist with my right hand and used my left elbow to hit him in the diaphragm. As I heard his breath escape him I used that split second to go down and trip him backwards. When he does I latched onto him as he falls placing one of my legs in between his and my arms around his neck like I was hugging him. When we reached the floor I started cutting his airway using my right arm. I applied pressure on both of my arms and waited for him to stop struggling. He kept hitting my in the ribs and the stomach but it was no use it was the ultimate defense to render him unconscious. After 5 minutes and boy was he strong he fell limp and the teacher blew the whistle and I immediately got off him. The doctors were racing to see if I had killed him but after they found a heart beat the teacher declared me as the winner. I laughed it off and said.

                “Even if I didn’t win it would be his defeat by default.” The teacher looked at me all confused.

                “What do you mean by that Seraph?” I scratched my neck and looked at everyone else so keen on my answer.

                “Well, you said to spar in partners of the same sex. We are the opposite sex so basically if he had won then that wouldn’t count.”

                “I don’t know what you mean you guys are both male.”

                “No teach you are mistaken I’m a girl.” That was all I had to say and the whole class started screaming. I covered my ears since everyone in the Mane class was arguing with the Noctus class and that gave my ears a ring. The teacher shut everyone up and replied to me.

                “If you are a girl then why were you wearing the boy’s uniform?”

                “That’s easy because boy’s clothes are more comfortable to run in besides skirts are not really suited for me. Also this school you have here never said that it is mandatory for the students to wear their own gender uniforms.”

                “Point taken anyways back to class everyone. You Seraph are going to the girl’s side and just record your tack records.” I walked off over to Shinoa who was so ready to punch my guts out. I put up my hands as if I was surrendering as I got more and more closer to her. When I felt as if I was safe I put them down and followed her to the equipment so she could take my times and measurements.

                After all that I could say that my exam was fairly good since everyone else was kind of struggling on how to look nice for the others though I couldn’t care about it. I sat down at the nice cool wall waiting for Shinoa to finish up her long distance test. A girl came up to me and it was the same one who almost sat in the wrong desk in the beginning of the day and also the one who started talking to me at the cafeteria. She just glared at me as if she wanted to say something to me but I couldn’t understand what was taking so long. Her friend rushed up to her yelling out her name and then when she realized that she was glaring at me she tried to pull her back. I didn’t know what to do so I stood up and tried to at least chat with her or something if they would let me.

                “Did I do something that dissatisfy you?” She didn’t answer me for a long time so I walked away but when I did she answered back. “What did you do back there? I swear I saw you kill him.” I looked behind me and saw her facing me with her hands in a fist.

                “I didn’t kill him. It was just some self-defense to get the opponent unconscious instead of killing them much less injure them. Unless it’s about pride then you lost most of it by something simple as that.” She scoffed it off and looked at me straight in the eyes before saying something else. “You call that simple most people didn’t even understand what you did. It’s something I have never seen before.” I looked at her with nothing but confusion in my mind then my eyes were at her emblem then I realized that she wasn’t from the Noctus class. I then answered. “It may be uncommon for you but it is used mostly by everyone from where I am from. If you have anything else please tell me so I can clarify with you.”

                “Do you know the person who you just beat today?”

                “No I don’t was I supposed to know? If so tell me his name so I can tell him not to act so high and mighty just because I decided to go over to the girl’s side just to correct the misunderstanding that everyone here has made.” I watched her grit her teeth before she said anything else and then her friend answered. “How about you get off that high horse you are on their and try to see what’s it’s like for us?” I couldn’t help but laugh at her words. I hadn’t laughed so much for so long that my back started hurting. I tried to stop myself from laughing but her serious face brought back the whole thing. When I finished I cleared my throat and answered. “Do you really think I’m acting all high and mighty? Well I am so sorry for trying to be so considerate to the people who actually want to talk to people like you like us. It’s because people with attitudes like you yourself that can’t let the other people open up their hearts up to the new people. Telling people about stereotypes about how the Dirty Noctus class would try to ruin our perfect lives. I am so sorry that I believed in the thought that maybe people might appreciate our differences and could be friends. Thanks for letting me know that. Thank you for showing how you guys really are. From now on don’t talk to me again it seems that you have a deep hatred for me so I’ll be on my way now.” I turned around to see Shinoa smiling at my outrage. She patted my back and gestured me to go cool off. I did exactly that since the school allows us to go outside and since gym was the last block of the day me and Shinoa went to the training room in the dorms. I don’t know how many times I threw Shinoa or how much she threw me around but I it felt nice to let it all out. It ended when Shinoa crumpled to the ground. I ran up to her as she told me if I had finished yet. I didn’t want to acknowledge what I was so I picked her up and ran to the nearest infirmary. When I reached it I set her onto the bed and tried the best I could to get her injured treated. She laughed it off and just asked to put some ice on it. It would only be bruises by tomorrow.
