#1A Chapter by NamelessArticle on Psalms 81:10.Psalms 81:10- “. . . Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.” The only requirement or command by God in being filled is “open wide your mouth.” None opens their mouth when they are full but when they are empty or in want. Neither do people eat if they don’t find it pleasant or filling. It is like the act of a father feeding his child. The food may be bitter or sweet but nevertheless, it is filling. The child can deny the food all he wants but eventually he will eat or shall perish. So does this applies to everyone’s spiritual condition. We must “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalms 34:8). But we only taste when we try the food and we only see when our attention is fixed on that object. When we that it is good, we eat it. Only than can we be filled for we are willing to eat. Jesus said, “Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst” (John 4:14). Hence, when we open our mouth and hunger or thirst, only Jesus can satisfy us. Nothing else will make us full for we have an insatiable desire to be pleased but only Jesus can accomplish that purpose. © 2010 Nameless |
