Looking Into the Transparency of Your Soul

Looking Into the Transparency of Your Soul

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

I can read your thoughts better than I can read your lips.........

"

Transparency of your soul looks me in the eye
and I can see the weight of the world
breathing possessively
as you whisper why.
I can read your thoughts better
than I can read your lips
and there is no question
as to what the words mean
delivered.........
with your each and every sigh.

I believe someone told you
the world wears a veiled smile
and attempts
to cling deceptively to your every breath
like a warrior breaks all stillness.
Yet, I see that you are not afraid
to sit and think
about how great men can fall in a moment
when preyed upon...........
by life's unwillingness.

Come with me when your heart aches
from standing in the shadows
of those thoughts
that have been tucked away
in the air you breathe.
Always remember that our time
waits in a path of sunlight
lying beyond the stillness
that will never fade
from all.........
that we can feel
and see.

Yes, the fingertips of happiness
strum my words
setting fires ablaze
so you can see me looking
into the transparency of your soul.
Everything is well-defined
even if it seems out of your control
and there is no need to apologize
when the weight of the world
keeps you.....
from feeling whole.

There is something about your writing that pulls emotion up inside of me. Your writing is deceptive. I mean that in a very positive praising way. The rhythm and meter of this piece is simple and straightforward. One might see the 'form' on an inspirational card. However, and this is where the deceptive part comes it, your writing goes very deep emotionally. Like a sirens call drifting with the wind and crashing waves, it is powerful, meaningful on the level of life and death.

We are all better off reading your poetry.

These are the best kinds of words a woman can say to a man even if he's put out or intimidated. Then it takes time for him to come around to see the light of you. Yet I think the power and the fire of the last verse goes that extra mile in soothing his concerns, for this energy he would come around quickly... and who knows, he might even wake up. Nicely written, beautiful sentiment here! Thanks.

Tears, soulsister. Your words are that heartfelt, you bring it so well over.
I almost want to touch that final day, when the weight of the world keeps you, and you finally actaully can set free, and be back with the spirits.

I love the style of writing, as it's natural, and always correct, I just am in awe, and I am left to say this to you:

" Wakan Tankan Nici Un"

Thank you!

Beautifully penned, you encapsulate the burden of carrying around life's woes and troubles...the burden which creates stress is alleviated by unconditional love. Well-done.

I've run out of words for you and the beauty and intense emotion of your words.. When I first started to read and looked at the photo I had chills... The last stanza is amazing and I could feel it deeply... In hopes of feeling whole...xo

Beautiful lines....especialy the one. "I believe someone told you
the world wears a veiled smile
and attempts
to cling deceptively to your every breath
like a warrior breaks all stillness. "

What a vision of caring for another... Accepting individualism and yet yielding to common ground...This is such beautiful writing it humbles my heart and soul. It flows effortlessly while the reader is emotionally enthralled by the adoring, ardent love expressed…Certainly a new favorite of mine…

Like Allen Ginsberg has said, "The weight of the world...is love." This is a beauty with all it's insight and togetherness, it comes to life as only humanly possible. I also can't help but feel a little woebegone by the urgency or clarity of the thought and emotion between the two or is it an affirmation between two halves of the same soul. It is interesting to think that, but I feel it closely related to another as I define love as the ability to read my soul mates thoughts better than their lips. Nice work! :)

This piece has an ethereal feel. The words are calm, and gentle, something a true friend would say in a time of need.
Thank you, Neva, for saying it.
