Ink In the Wind

Ink In the Wind

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

The time has come and whispers to me from the lips of the universe that the stairs of the fiercest storm are covered with everything that I have hidden in my mind..........

"

I tremble when I hear the voice of the wind saying,
“why should I even care
if my actions close the eyes
of those who yield to me?”
and all that I know
is that here I stand with pen in hand
in a world of my own making,
contemplating
a potential stalemate.

The time has come and whispers to me
from the lips of the universe
that the stairs of the fiercest storm
are covered with everything
that I have hidden in my mind,
confusion attempts to run
through my veins creating a madness
with fingers
oh so unkind.

I gaze at the warm sun and wonder how
I lost the desire
I had in my younger days
to bravely sing to the world
from a throat that had not forgotten
how it feels to stand in the gap
or what it takes to expose winds
that do not care
who their actions destroy.

With pen in hand I speak to the wind
with words the same as if
I called upon
twelve thousand angels
whose wings float upon each gale
as if they were merely
part of a beautiful dream,
once again I feel safe
in this world of my own making,
my trembling ends.

Beautiful, but that was to be determined even before I began reading... :) I love how your own words make you feel at peace, safe in this world. When I feel lonely or scared... I write, it definitely does help make the trembling stop. God bless you for your passionate words of wisdom.

Exhilirating Neva! Your poetry of late reaches far beyond years and holds surprise and intrigue in each piece :) The world we create...stable or otherwise...is still our world/existence :)

To me, this reflects the saying that in the end, all you have is yourself. The world is definitely everything that you make it to be. All our choices are our own. You truly say that here, paired with beautiful imagery.

I'm sorry that I haven't reviewed your writings in a while. Life for me has been so busy as of late.

oh How we do create our own worlds "..with pen in hand"...and when it is penned as this and takes complete ownership..of the outcome..it is a consolation and warm hugg to our sense of the inevitable.....love it Neva

There is such an emotional dance here... a stunning song of trembling beauty and the fierce force of life unyielding... that longing for safety and security, and the hint of dreams come to life once more...

Oh Lady... I was sat here, tickleing my puppies ears and reading, but when I clicked on this my entire world vanished and became one of your imaginings. The hypnotic lilt of your words took me to another place and held me there until the poem, over, left behind the indelible caress of your pen. Subtle and tantelising, as beautiful an expression of art as I have ever read.

We each create our own realms in the world of imagination, when we write poetry. You have done a fine job here. This poem is beautifully lyrical and wistful, with a hint of defiance. I like it a lot.
