Language of Desire

Language of Desire

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

I traveled through rooms where love songs echoed from the roar of lions.........

"

Finding myself within a language
that lives inside
the grain of spheres
containing spirits of desire.
My pulse raced with a freedom
not caring to resist
the deliciousness of fire.

I traveled through rooms
where love songs
echoed from the roar of lions.
Sometimes I wandered as a lady fair
who steadied herself
only to disappear
on the horizon.

Descending from speech,
each breath I took
was cast upon the swift currents
where hearts
are often drowned.
I came face to face with fire
collided safe and sound.

Can you hear the words I speak
in this language
known as the spirit of desire?
Does your pulse race
as my own,
not caring
to resist the fire?

I like the repetition of the word "fire"... It really gives me the feel of the poem. The last stanza almost sounds lyrical to me also! It is a passionate piece and the image is a perfect fit. This particularly sticks out to me: "Descending from speech,
each breath I took
was cast upon the swift currents
where hearts
are often drowned. "
It makes it seem like the risk is higher, but it is still worth it. Maybe you could drown in that fire and get so caught up in it... Great work, as always!

The language of desire. I learn a long time ago. (6 sisters) Woman can open or close doors to love or friendship. I like the desire and the emotion of this poem. I believe woman have the control. Could be a smile or a simple hello to open new doors. I like the ending to the outstanding poem.

Phhhwwwwooooooorrrrr. Is it just me or is it warm in here? A wonderful poem of love, passion and desire, burning like an ember on the page. Stunning. Time for a lie down in a dark room

Like a moth to a flame. You are back on your familiar ground, regaining the footing you once lost. In other words, the passion has returned full force.

Spirit of desire. Desire is a strong emotion that consume us at different moments. The language of love is one all its own. It cab be tender and soothing or it can be fierce and flaming. It can be many different things.
