you have no idea? Lol, I do! The message I got was that one can get burned only so much before they become numb to those that cause them pain. You watch and smirk in enjoyment when you see Karma catch up with them. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's the feeling I got from this poem.
I have an Idea. I felt as if pain was manifest in the one who wasnt really hurt but is empathetic to the other.
It speaks of beeing hurt but still be open to new things to me.
I feel such a desire to get back at those whom have wronged me as well. Wonderfull poem Neva, Wonderfull and perhaps a little differant from you. I like it a lot.
It comes to mind of a man denied his plea, no help for the wicked or the weary. You look upon him with cold eyes, the callousness of being. Pleasure out of pain, glee in someone's agony...very interesting.
You're so amazingly unique and attuned, Neva...as always your descriptive prowess and the images you invoke...are mind-blowing. I love trying to follow along what your metaphors stand for...and for the most part, I conger up a vision....but one I just can't create in my mind...."making the knees of his tears" what do knees of tears look like? :)) Don't get me wrong...whatever they look like...I loved the line
Great write, Neva.....as usual

Wow, this is powerful. It definitely sounds like you have someone in mind, yet a good poet can slip into different points of view. The imagery is robust too!
Been there. Not good. Eventually people walk away from the situation, or go crazy. The poem picks at old scars, bringing up memories. It has a despair to it I can only hope you don't feel in reality. This poem hurts. Good. It's good to see this side of your work. Deep and harsh. In it's way it is still a beautiful piece, exploring and elevating emotion.
