Ten Thousand HolesA Poem by Neva Flores Smith - ChangefulstormDo you sometimes wish you could throw back your shoulders and visit shadows where feelings are dull?Do you sometimes wish you could throw back your shoulders and visit shadows where feelings are dull? Especially on those days when you wonder if their grip could be loosened, or if it would stay to meet voices, weary of making soft turns around bodies of favor. Each of us claims to sense the withdrawal of what we thought we knew as ripples against valleys once held in our hours. Yet, when the sound of the wind wanders in to see, we avoid eye contact with the truth. Although, we journey through life ready to feel the tides that change the shores on which we move, still we hold onto insincerity preached right in front of us. Is this because we lack the character to look them in the eye? Vibrations issue from your plans, precisely lighting on your hopes and troubling your breathing. Then, ten thousand holes are left in your heart to mourn what has been lost in shards of rumbling self-pity. No, a composition cannot tiptoe around the sound holding your heart as it breaks in two. Yet, it can certainly open the door so that you can hear what your spirit says. I write these words inside my heart in hopes you will copy them in your own. My wish for you is to mend the same as me. © 2011 Neva Flores Smith - ChangefulstormAuthor's Note
