Pearls Whisper In the Crevices of My Soul

Pearls Whisper In the Crevices of My Soul

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Without seeing the dust there on his book or pages not touched by his hand

"

My center has been caught underneath that which will never let go

Of pearls that sigh and whisper in the crevices of my soul
Although the darkest of creatures call out my name
I am not unconsciously held on their horizons
Nor will I ever breathe the same

Distraction returns as a sad mistake within a facade of goodness
Staring at me with intentions of pacing the words I weave
In hopes that I will abandon my art to dark lands
Without seeing the dust there on his book
Or pages not touched by his hand

I will continue to fight for these pearls and hold my own beliefs
Stay centered without distraction of dark philosophies
Although night may fall upon the day conceived
I will not be held on anyone’s horizon
Or of my pearls be relieved

an expression of your self identity Neva...one must always stay within their center and beliefs...to many are lead into those dark realities...so few can comprehend the strive to stay within the Light...just like those pearls of yours...such is your voice...

Elegant eloquent exposition
Iridescent beauty
Glow grow
Strand of pearls
Precious center
Heart beam wisdom
Strength defy transparent
Sigh whisper light
Talisman of truth
Fend dark horizon
Sing freedom

I had to read this about 6 times. Usually a good sign when it comes to poetry. So, it's not soemthing that is easily absorbed. That's a compliment.

Your work engaged me. This is your therapy. Always turn to it and fight for those pearls.

Another tortured and yet revealing poem. Struggling to maintain the belief in the self. I like the use of pearls here especially.
