I am mellow with my wounds here in your trust................
Come and bend my state of mind Wind round me if you must The night is pretty With unnumbered stars And I am mellow, with my wounds Here in your trust
Gently touch my cheek Hold me against the fences of fate Winter winds are nothing to me my friend It is life that harbors That trumpet, which I must learn To play once again
Be the sunrise of many years ago Within this precious time Raise me up to where grace’s garden Will weigh much more Than this wild jungle that rages Inside of my mind
Then surely the whisper of my pen Will reach the depths To prove, that I am the woman Who speaks the language That can only be interpreted Here inside of you
Drink my rain that kisses your heaven Drops only you can see Draw in each breath from my own Dance with me now Until out of my heart, my taste For freedom, is gone
Neva, How you do write with such flowing lines of yearning passion that seem subdued. You send this reader off to reverie. Re-reading brings new mental images to everything you write. Your insights are such a delight. Keep your gears in overdrive, there they do grind the grist of your sweet flour.
And just the pictures your writting can prevoke realing around inside my head. Each line added a new picture to gaze over. I could feel your passion and yern for the same things. Wonderfully well written, Thank you!
This is stunningly beautiful. it is a statement of thought of what you want that person to be. You want the magically feeling of love of love to flow through each pour and bring peace and freedom with it. I love the imagery of the rain and the sun. It allows the reader to feel more clearly of what you are speaking of.
Wow! This is really good. I especially like the ending. "Be the sunrise of many years ago, within this precious time." That's a great line. I like the flow of it too. It rolls on without hurry, at a calm gentle pace. Beautiful
beautiful poem Neva, the ending struck me as the most beautiful... "Drink my rain that kisses your heaven
Drops only you can see
Draw in each breath from my own
Dance with me now
Until out of my heart, my taste
For freedom, is gone"
i can totally relate to this piece it comes from the heart...
"The pain I feel now is the happiness I had before. That’s the deal." C.S Lewis
