Whisper to Me - Remarkable Words

Whisper to Me - Remarkable Words

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

I want to still hear your voice echoing against my skin................

"

Come whisper to me, remarkable words

When evening cascades to a sigh
I want to still hear your voice
Echoing against my skin
After I kiss you
Goodnight

Encircle my world with the sound of your thunder
Listen to my pulse throb as it resounds
You can measure each beat
Matched with your own
In the way you make
My heart pound

Place your hands on the small of my back once more
Leave me with your calm and serene air
So tonight when I lie down alone
And close these eyes
I can still feel
You there

I like this poem, I like the descending structure of each stanza, every line by at most two words than the last line. The message of love resonates on two levels for me, the passion for the mate in our lives and the passion of the subject we love (for me that is mathematics, hence why I love the structuring). Resonant on the deep.

Love and longing, with beautiful sides of wordplay and wordpainting. May the presence of your other comfort and embrace you as long as you are alone, Neva. To have a voice echo against your skin...such a sensuous line. Well done.

there is a definite tone to this poem..it goes from being a whisper to something even quieter .. that gives the entire work a nice feel !!

The picture is enough for me, a picture can paint so many words. Extraordinary!

So filled with melancholy. Probably one of the saddest poems I have ever read. I must say, Neva, that this has to be one of your best pieces of writing. You really plucked some heartstrings on my end by putting your own heart into the poem.
So lovely and sad. I love it.

Neva what a beautiful write, makes one wish and want for more. It spoke to me of dreams that could be and hopes that one day may be...

I too like the descending structure of each line. It speaks to me of the simplification of love to its bright essence. Gorgeous work as always Neva!
