When we write about each other in the heat of anger our words are forever. How do you wish to be remembered?
With silent words you scream aloud upon the pages like broken glass Ruined relationships sigh like dark winds and kiss me hard Can you not rise up from the plains of your misunderstandings Take this opportunity to hold your pen’s tongue In a higher form of regard
Among these dark trodden flowers there is much for you to lose Do you wish to be remembered by your mind’s reflection To reveal the finest flavor of your poet’s dreams and desires Or have your feelings of resentment be analyzed By our future generations
Your silent words will dance aloud upon the pages of your history Listen to them screaming out to you to for some relief More sudden than a mere thought can race across your mind Your silent words will become part of the future Who you were, stolen like a thief
We read the poetry of classic poets and we hold them in high regard. We form opinions of them as people by what we read. When we write about each other in the heat of anger our words are forever. How do you wish to be remembered?

You make your point quite strongly, and I do quite agree with it. I will have to counter by saying that not all poetry is perfect. It is meant to be an expression of human life and emotions. If we weren't to have emotion, like anger, in our poetry, then what exactly would it be? I think that some anger in poetry is good. It gives an insight into the humanity of the writer.
Absolutely stellar. I couldn't have done this as well. :)
well, I merely want to be remembered, nothing more, and regardless of for what, you my darling will be remembered for your ability to see the good in anyone
Hard to understand that we may become immortal by a single phrase written in rage, in pique, in silliness...especially now, that we become published by a single click of a mouse, without benefit of outside editing. An excellent question, Neva.
i guess by this quote well it goes like this
" you do not write because you want to say something you write because you have something to say":) really good poem!
Somehow inspirational, but what good is inspiration if it is only out of the desire not to be forgotten and loathed? Great write Neva, You have a way with words.
These are important questions for each of us to ask ourselves and the way you have written the queries are crisp and clear. I find myself asking how I want to be remembered and your well thought out words, "With silent words you scream aloud upon the pages like broken glass Ruined...", have me doing some deep soul searching. Our words can create, hurt, show love, spark joy and so much more, yet we do tend to toss them about carelessly with little thought to what they are left to say about us after we are gone. Wonderfuly written train of thought Neva!
Very wise words indeed and I also believe that not only can you speak things into existence, you can also write things into existence. A lesson that I am still learning.
Excellent work Neva as always.
Amazing.
Yes, it is true when we are reading a poet for the first time or many times, that we judge them and try to figure out what it was in his or her lifetime that prompted he or she to write it. The emotions carry through time and are permanent in that writing. You have portrayed that in such an unbelievable way.
I would pick out every stanza I like or phrases, but each stanza I like for a different reason. WIll definitely be coming back to this one!
We should be remembered for the gift we were given and to use it wisely..
Love the profound wisdom in this write Neva, great piece of work to be
remembered for sure :)
