When we write about each other in the heat of anger our words are forever. How do you wish to be remembered?
With silent words you scream aloud upon the pages like broken glass Ruined relationships sigh like dark winds and kiss me hard Can you not rise up from the plains of your misunderstandings Take this opportunity to hold your pen’s tongue In a higher form of regard
Among these dark trodden flowers there is much for you to lose Do you wish to be remembered by your mind’s reflection To reveal the finest flavor of your poet’s dreams and desires Or have your feelings of resentment be analyzed By our future generations
Your silent words will dance aloud upon the pages of your history Listen to them screaming out to you to for some relief More sudden than a mere thought can race across your mind Your silent words will become part of the future Who you were, stolen like a thief
We read the poetry of classic poets and we hold them in high regard. We form opinions of them as people by what we read. When we write about each other in the heat of anger our words are forever. How do you wish to be remembered?

You make your point quite strongly, and I do quite agree with it. I will have to counter by saying that not all poetry is perfect. It is meant to be an expression of human life and emotions. If we weren't to have emotion, like anger, in our poetry, then what exactly would it be? I think that some anger in poetry is good. It gives an insight into the humanity of the writer.
Absolutely stellar. I couldn't have done this as well. :)
That's a really good point. If I could take back all the painful words I've said to my family members, I would. I try not to write negative feelings--with my imagination, I can get REALLY cruel and not even know it (plenty and family can attest to this)
interesting and in depth write with a valid point you have lassoed these words and made them yours so wonderfully, I adore this thought provoking write.
What this reminds me is of how when people read our writing, they do feel every word is literal and is true. We as writers do use our imagination, so technically, we have the freedom to write what we want. But in the same breath... we are remembered by what we write and what we convey. Very unique point of view and subject for poem. Enjoyed!
written with the graceful touch of a true writer. your words reflect the reality that once we are gone, our words will remain. what we've etched on paper becomes our legacy.
this is beautiful work. i can see that you will become a favorite read here at writers cafe. :)
I am intrigued by this poem, mainly by the way your words were used. I personally would like to remembered by all I've written because all I write Is me! I never write out of anger, I write in all I feel period. very nice poem.
I don't ever want to be remembered for my words... they are simply my emotions that bleed across the page as I remember them at the time of feeling them... And my need to write them down... Then usually they are forgotten...
I want to be remembered by my actions and my deeds...
I want to be remembered (by those that know me) as Me :-)
I love that last line - "who you were, stolen like a thief" and such a true observation - the page steals - people who read get an insight into your mind - the idea of it lingering - often why when we all read back at poems we remember what we were thinking/feeling when we wrote it ha some are best not to read back too! as to how to be remembered - I think just being remembered at all in this world is enough for me lol as always a brilliant write Neva!
