Retrit - Friend of My Soul

All my secrets lie in Greece, where my gaze rests on soulful eyes
Although time changes what we carry inside our hearts
The vines of me are hidden inside my best friend
Where the waters of her gestures
Grace my soul

In life our days are set to share with someone whom we trust
Denied I am sure is this to many under the same sky
With gentle speech, my friend holds me close
Her heartbeat sending tones of relief
To my own

Feelings come to me as portraits that light all of my darkness
As if my dear friend reads the very mind of my heart
Letting me always know that I am never alone
She is shedding a thousand tears for me
Even miles apart
