On all those nights where love is more than flesh that holds our will..............
In the blossoming winds of life we are scattered Within forms of silent time On all those nights where love Is more than flesh that holds our will And the foundation we build Is yours and mine
Defeat is a precarious lantern who’s light Is bitterly bright and unfair Yet nothing can spring from rivers That I call mine that could ever Make me forsake you To go there
Discontent will never be mine to hold As I know that you understand These words I carve From my heart Because my spirit is at Your command
You are the morning that quenches my thirst My fragrance after the rain Now how could I ever forget you Or these sighs you have left As here in my heart They remain
In daylight will I realign my mind
And refine the lift in these lines
That tonight I do not see
For sadness keeps me
'Tis beauty seen in silence
Built on philosophers stone
More than flesh and bone
But tonight my soul doth moan
Moonlight bright on still waters
Beams fond memory of yesternights
Long lost a thousand years is but a day
Swallowed light in nights decay
Strong-willed smithstress heart in hand
Sings song of love to other than
One lone heart longing
On bleak silent shore
Drink thee fragrant spirit of morn
Taste again sweet rain remembered
'Twill not soothe my spirit sore
Till tomorrow my heart restore

Your loving heart penetrates deeply.
Your transcendent thoughts
Wonderfully extend to your intended sphere.
Beautiful writing.
"Defeat is a precarious lantern who’s light
Is bitterly bright and unfair"
Now I stand in my own world of hurt. I never knew there was a way to describe what that felt like. You truly have out done yourself with this one. This is written from a known point of view. And I'm honestly speechless. J'adore
"You are the morning that quenches my thirst my fragrance after the rain" evokes a smooth as silk and soft song in my heart. As usual Neva you take me to another place, so gently and full of grace. I will read your words where ever they lead for I find myself lifted away on a breeze. Divinely inspired work! I enjoyed every thoughtfully crafted line.
A beautiful write. The passion and serenity flow amazingly. I especially like the lines:
"You are the morning that quenches my thirst
My fragrance after the rain"
Lovely imagery, and magical words.
Amazing write :)
This is a poem to read again and again and to savor. "You are the morning that quenches my thirst." This is such a beautiful poem--so well written--captures the emotions brilliantly.
