Until hope is no longer just a ghost I have painted into a corner of wounded victory.......
Where the moon has called you mine I will conquer all of my tears Gather them from among the grasses Where they have cut my heart Like shards of glass
I will watch the clouds as they move Across the hills of dreams Until hope is no longer just a ghost I have painted into a corner Of wounded victory
This battle will no longer be my king Suppose to be will now reign I will not miss these tears of mine For I will be shielded forever From this............. My pain
"This battle will no longer be my king" I like this part the best because that is the trap that we fall into, we fight for the battle and not for the outcome. We pick our battles unwisely and that hurts us more. Tears cleanse us and I know I don't miss them but I also I need them to stay sane. This is a beautiful soulful write.
"Where the moon has called you mine I will conquer all of my tears"
why is it the human heart is so fragile, so easily disappointed, so ready to leave
tears in a trail? superb as usual Ms. Flores
i think that everyone can relate to this at some point in time, and the imagery is very good to describe the way it feels. I think that the "shards of glass" were a good way to describe how it feels, and I also really like the first two lines of the third stanza.
I have found that the more I try and conquer what I want of love, what I long for, it seems I end up stepping further back into the box of love and feeling more hurt again losing the battle I started with myself being my worst enemy.
I find we have to take a deep breath - step out of the box of love and let it fight its own battle and let the pain and hurt of what we feel fade so we can feel the rays of warmth again and let love come to us.
Thats when the tears flow and we start feeling loved again in a different way, I'm dealing with some hurt right now and its a battle that I will never win.
