Ribbons of Curiously Spinning Tales

Ribbons of Curiously Spinning Tales

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

The heart of the sky melts into bowls................

"

Morning rises in such extraordinary ways; touching on what is real
When you have been spinning round in fairy tales
Where stars are silver haired ladies whose souls have awakened
The smile carried deep in the pockets of mist filled clouds
Revealing an upside moon unveiled

North winds created doorways radiating single rays of light
That changed the stories old familiar taste
Within dreams a new flame burns on the rosy cheeks
Whose ears are now bent down to hear music
A sleeping soul will make

The heart of the sky melts into bowls; fills them to their brims
Full of sweet thoughts to save for a rainy day
Unlike the ones you read in those books you treasure
They dwell inside your heart softly listening
For you to come and play

Tangled up in fantastic ribbons of curiously spinning tales
One's imagination can escape innocently
Into places where everything flows purely fantastic
To carry on with them when morning rises
To touch upon their reality

We use to catch them as children but I wont ever tell you what we did with them after we captured them. The heart of a child is pure but their minds are wicked beyond belief. I wish I could remember more of my dreams. Someone once told me that when we dream it is actually our souls leaving our bodies and going on an adventure in the universe and we see it or remember in the form of a dream when we wake. A beautiful thought to me for many reasons. Beautiful write like your other works and other great pictures that you find for your poetry.

I would love to turn back time and start when I was still a little girl and be amazed once again by the stories my mom tells me every night before I'm off to dreamland :) Nice one Neva!

We often live within our own fairytales and dreams, eventually they will be caught. Lovely poem Neva :-)

So this is the nonmelancholic version of dreams! Actually mine was more about dreams for the future but nonetheless, this is endearing and captivating. Love the fireflies. I also like how you've given this piece a dreamlike quality of it's own. Nicely written!

Dreams are meant to be chased but you will have to jump over the hurtles of reality. Some really beautiful imagery you paint with your words.
