Until I Felt the Breezes Without You

Until I Felt the Breezes Without You

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Although it was dressed the same as an angry sea............

"

Love was not enough

as I sipped on the only reason
I could hear from your kiss
although it was dressed the same
as an angry sea.

Still, I was unable to let go
because I so enjoyed
those images
that spun in beauty
before my sighs.

Lost moments recollected
I had speak out
in their smoothness
even if they were only
fantasies.

Such as the ones
taken out of the box
I will forever
just call
yours and mine.

No love was not enough
Until I allowed myself to feel the sky
and its playful breezes
upon my skin
alone
without you

Reading your poetry makes me 'feel' too much for comfort, really. This isn't an insult whatsoever, but the greatest compliment a poet could ever want. You should feel very proud. You've done well to evoke such deep emotional feeling from someone who is constantly running from feeling anything.

We hardly ever appreciate anything till it's gone..love was not enough...I just loved how you said ' until I felt the breeze alone'. I hope the ink in your pen never dries up..you're poems are a treat to the heart and soul.

I felt "soothed" reading this... maybe as I have "let go" of many things and with that comes a special appreciation of what has passed and what is to be

So true Neva. And beautifully expressed.

Sometimes, love is too much with us; withdrawal then becomes beneficial--that we may refill our well of emotion, and reassert individuality.
Great poem!

I'm really enjoying the dimension you're adding to your poetic voice, Neva. The richness of images still there, yet condensed and concentrated. The interplay of freedom and melancholy in the last stanza leaves such a delicious aftertaste. Thank you for a soulful, lovely read.

Intrinsically woven through the lyrics is a sadness that is very nearly palpable. Very touching poem...

Nice work...

A lovely write Neva. You are very right, often we don't realize what we have until it is lost to us. Hopefully, we learn from past mistakes!
