Reading your poetry makes me 'feel' too much for comfort, really. This isn't an insult whatsoever, but the greatest compliment a poet could ever want. You should feel very proud. You've done well to evoke such deep emotional feeling from someone who is constantly running from feeling anything.
so true Neva...one can be like the wind and travel among the skies and yet it is when we lose someone close whether in a relationship of love or even a friend or family...yet it is when we realize how very important those persons are that we become more compassionate and loving...
"Love was not enough until I allowed myself to feel the sky.." ~~~~~That line delivers a triumphant statement, freedom, inner bliss of when you let someone in for the first time to be complete.
Neva, it never seems to be enough until it is gone, does it? And then when we have lost it, love is the all encompassing factor. That opening stanza, Wow!
So much passion in these words:
"Love was not enough
as I sipped on the only reason
I could hear from your kiss
although it was dressed the same
as an angry sea."
But the only way to find out is to let it go. Pave paradise, put up a parking lot. A beautifully melancholy piece, Neva, ripe with sentiment and remorse. I really like it a lot. It moves me.
So true! This actually caused a tear, remarkable emotion within this poem love, beautifully written. I love the fact that there can be such numbness until we learn to feel again, the tenderness of life can be so stalled until that point! Wonderful poem xx
