You said you could climb the peaks of life to awaken pain..............
You said you could climb the peaks of life to awaken pain Even as flashes of madness called you their own Understandably, I still loved your careless flaming heart With a watchful face which recalls taking hold Of your broken chains
You told me the sky hurled heroes upon your summons Though I know, you still claimed visions shared So I came and went until you were pleased to let me Sing the tune of the tongues of angels To your warrior heart
Beyond the start of centuries stroking cloudy shores Better than a silent idea you let be sought Lies the voice of courage clinging to those ideals You sustained when you named fear As no such thing
But you never told me that sometimes it rains on love Or how often you hide when it comes a flood So when the quiet came I thought you didn’t care I decided to climb the peaks of life myself To sing pain back to sleep
Oh, Neva...the clarity of your singing here is superb! This may become my favorite of what I have read of yours. The consistency of vision from start to finish, the impeccable images...this write caught me completely in its grip. Thank you for sharing your gift of this poem.

This is a beautiful poem. I do enjoy the overall feel of this piece and the way the final line completes the circle to the first. If anything I had a hard time with the flow of this connecting to the 'pictures' you were painting. Could just be the way I was reading. Great job. Your art is your art.
I always have to go slow when I read your writing, lol...I'm guessing there was a painful relationship with someone who caused a great deal of chaos, and although he was beautiful she had to let him go.
The last stanza puts to shame all those who--through their own indifference--have committed the grevious sin of squandering love.
Another great and lovely offering, Neva.
I thought some of these same things flying above the clouds yesterday. Sometimes we have to put a boundary around the love we hold onto and realize it's time to let it go.. "To climb the peaks of life myself". This is a beautiful poem about that realization and the moving forward.. You have a poem about building life on a beautiful new foundation created by our own wants and needs.. I love it Neva...xx
I believe you can move mountains
with a single thought, just like you
have moved me with this piece
you can “sing pain back to sleep”.
Well done Neva...
Sing the tune of the tongues of angels
To your warrior heart
Love this.
But you never told me that sometimes it rains on love
Or how often you hide when it comes a flood
So when the quiet came I thought you didn’t care
I decided to climb the peaks of life myself
To sing pain back to sleep
