![]() Inner Battle of My WaysA Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm![]() Looking back on how my hands cried out in disbelief............![]() I found myself wrapped in the ways of a woman standing up alone
Looking back on how my hands cried out in disbelief Not knowing why everyone stared at me as if hypnotized I stood back and watched the world go by in pictures Unleashing an inner battle of distant grief I returned to see the footprints from the innocence of my youth When I closed my eyes, I opened every single window Everything hidden ran through what was lying underneath The sweetest echoes from the table of my heart Made me smile in all I know Would any of those footprints stop for me here in my stillness Erase the patterns of teardrops from my cheek If by chance, the clearest moonlight stained my memories Will I still stand back viewing everyone in pictures Staring as if hypnotized at me Here lie the looks on every face at the setting of our sun Their eyes dancing on waves of better days If I could paint a picture of what is lying underneath Perhaps I would not express myself wrapped In the inner battle of my ways © 2011 Neva Flores Smith - ChangefulstormReviews
