How can I ever close my eyes to you when your face haunts me
Blowing like scattered leaves across my mind
I become breathless and can hear you speak my name
In those whispers, I hear springing to life
Declaring, “You are mine”

If my heart could only speak, it would tell of the first moment
When you wrapped your heart around my soul
How you painted your love into all of my loneliest spaces
With words that embraced and bonded my faith
That love again, I could hold

I can see you softly smiling from this chair where I sit alone
Your love washes over me in gracious springs
How can I close my eyes to you when your face is here
Whispering those words that I know are true
Surrounding my everything
