Unsolved Riddles

Unsolved Riddles

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Sleep must live in bubbles that dance on sighs

"
I was floating towards being certain the whole night through
Sleep must live in bubbles that dance on sighs
When half the thoughts stirring in my bones took delight
In pressing their soft lips of innocence
Against my mind's eyes

Silence weighed my heart to find a riddle never solved
Speak of precious hours of restful sleep
Buried in my mind in the sweet form of dreams
Circling those moments twilight hours
Tend to always keep

Why should I not speak aloud when it's that time again
Clear restless ground where bubbles leap
So I can wake up in the morning chasing dreams
Not worried about unsolved riddles
Silence loves to keep

I was floating towards being certain the whole night through
Sleep must live in bubbles that dance on sighs
Then one by one I watched them kiss me with delight
I left silence with all her unsolved riddles
As I closed my eyes

I really liked how you repeated lines and themes from the opening of the piece at the end. I think that really added depth and understanding to the poem. I think that your thought is very unique and originonal and you express it with a very seasoned voice.

Sleep must live on bubbles that dance on sighs... to me, this poem relates to sleepless pondering; staying awake for the sake of the riddles of life around you. In the end, we all must come to terms with them, and 'close our eyes'. This is a very beautiful poem. Good job.

nice work...even some riddles are left within silence...to be kept inside dreams that never appear...

nice...

Beautiful flow of thoughts flying in and out of nowhere .. 'Sleep must live in bubbles that dance on sighs'

I'm fascinated by dreams and why and how they arrive .. have written about them too .. but not by using that wonderfully expressive phrase above ..

Light, effervescent; beating wings that comfort the sleeplessness of silence.

Good work.

Brilliant and very interesting writing about dreams. I have felt the same way before when I tried to explain and understand dreams. Then, I finally accepted them for their true worth, just restful, beautiful, delightful "unsolved riddles".
