So tired and fast asleep you lie peacefully by my side
I quietly rest and listen as you breathe
I want so much to take you, into my own sea of dreams
Swim together on the cresting waves of ecstasy

I reach out to touch your cheek, my hand stops in midair
Remembering how tired you really are
So I watch the beating of your pulse hypnotize my eyes
Admiring your sleeping peace from afar

Soon, I give in to temptation; gently brush you with a kiss
A whisper of moist lips upon your brow
Yet you remain asleep even with the warmth my kiss induces
A bit of heaven into your sea of dreams endowed

A kiss of love.

In one moment the a lover wants to kiss his darling to tell how much he/she loves his darling. In the next, he retaliates worrying if it would not be right to wake one up from such a peaceful sleep. Genuine love.

While beautiful, this comes across to me as a sad piece. What I see here is a woman longing for pleasure, for her man to bring the "sea of dreams" into reality by spending the night with her, but "he is tired".
She dares touch him, kiss him in hope of awakening her "prince charming", but he doesn't move a muscle leaving her disappointed, so she leaves one last kiss to endow his dreams with her presence, in hopes things will play out differently in his dreams.
I may be off, but that is what I see.
