Sea of Dreams

Sea of Dreams

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

So I watch the beating of your pulse hypnotize my eyes, admiring your sleeping peace from afar..............

"
So tired and fast asleep you lie peacefully by my side
I quietly rest and listen as you breathe
I want so much to take you, into my own sea of dreams
Swim together on the cresting waves of ecstasy

I reach out to touch your cheek, my hand stops in midair
Remembering how tired you really are
So I watch the beating of your pulse hypnotize my eyes
Admiring your sleeping peace from afar

Soon, I give in to temptation; gently brush you with a kiss
A whisper of moist lips upon your brow
Yet you remain asleep even with the warmth my kiss induces
A bit of heaven into your sea of dreams endowed

A kiss of love.

In one moment the a lover wants to kiss his darling to tell how much he/she loves his darling. In the next, he retaliates worrying if it would not be right to wake one up from such a peaceful sleep. Genuine love.

Nice one. Keep writing.

:)

When one puts the importance of their love before their own desires one is surely deeply and truely in love ... picture perfectly goes but i could see yr sea of dreams within the eye of my mind :)

Sometimes the dreamer will incorporate stimulus from the waking world into their dream. It was a long time ago, but I can remember it happening to me. Your words are dreamy, poetic and quite romantic.

Beautiful. All your poems are exactly that. Beauty personified! Amazing how you deliver with such consistency. Maybe because you believe in writing your beautiful heart out :) This is great, with its soft metaphors and soothing imagery. Kudos, once again!

Oh this is just beautiful. It's pure and raw and everything a poem should be. I feel the love but also the sorrow in it.

I reach out to touch your cheek, my hand stops in midair
Remembering how tired you really are
So I watch the beating of your pulse hypnotize my eyes
Admiring your sleeping peace from afar

Favorite lines...they especially jump out at me. This is a truly wonderful piece...a pleasure to read.

to me, the last part sounds like the type of kiss where the woman/man knows that his/her love has died and he/she is letting him go. that's what i'm getting, idk if it's the real meaning.

Sounds right familiar somehow. Spiritual intimacy for sure. I can't say this is sad - at least this person actually has a physical person lying in bed with her, and, sleeping or not, he is still warm and breathing! :)
