Revelation

Hello my sweet friend.
It seems I have been asleep forever.
My eyes have been closed for numerous ages
And have not seen your heart.

Your heart is so bright and achingly beautiful
That I must go back to sleep
And turn away as to continue looking
Could pull me into places I am afraid to go.

I have seen you with my eyes closed
As you are in front of me.
Yet I have not seen you as you truly are
With my eyes and heart wide open.

This revelation strikes chords in my soul
That I never knew existed.
How could I have been so blind?

I must take leave of your heart's beauty
And find refuge in my sleep
As remaining here in this revelation
May change my destiny in such ways
As I am not prepared to see.

This come across as a modern story of the beauty and the beast. The 3rd stanza alone speaks so true about this,
"I have seen you with my eyes closed
As you are in front of me.
Yet I have not seen you as you truly are
With my eyes and heart wide open." - She knows he exists, but she doesn't know the real him.

i totally agree with FlawedByDesign sounds like the heart speaking out and you're blind to what she is saying or You don't see that real you only way i can expline that I love this it's so beautiful and i have been in this same situation once in my life it's like the spirit is crying out saying who are you or that the hearts saying help me i am here notice me don't ignore my love and beauty with the Pure child likeness of your heart I can show you things ones choose to not see and ignore beauty and happiness i see it every day when i wake up the sunset and so many things thank you for sharing this i truly Enjoyed reading this it's going into my favorites.
