Shadows Across a Tear-Stained Floor

Shadows Across a Tear-Stained Floor

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Shattered windows and broken doors, cast shadows across a tear-stained floor.

"

Shattered windows and broken doors,

cast shadows across a tear-stained floor.

Broken dishes speak to silent walls

while unheard words cry out

that should be understood by all.

Nothing's left to see in these eyes of mine,

because life has frozen

all I ever hoped to find.

I write and search for a stream of memories,

but find no words that won't scar me.

My hands reach out with a shaking pen

composing a message in the dark once again.

Tonight I scratch on my skin

words of love

that should have never been.

Immense wretchedness, utter sorrow, drips from every line.. so sad, so finely created. A love and emotion like this is devastating, spaces and sides with different rules -if there are any at all.. perhaps not. You've always had a poet's true reason for placing words just so.. sighhh

Is a while since you...

sometimes our love becomes like an old abandoned building...once thriving with activity, now just a pile of wreckage...our love, our heart becomes this.

Your writing has such mystery in it that it's intriguing! The opening line is great, "shattered windows and broken doors" in itself has overtones and dark shadows in one's imagination of what was or what might have occurred in one's life. This poem is beautiful!

A master piece! The words flowed with ease, and paints a story that is relatable.

I can feel the pain that I can relate to. " write and search for a stream of memories,
but find no words that won't scar me."
Story of my life!

This hit home. You always write so beautifully. Your soul must be riddled with torment to create such exquisite words.

Nice Neva....as most of your work this too speaks volumes and has a dark deep pain to it. Your metaphors are what brings me back to your work. You inspire me in more than one ways.
